Operations Manager, Consumer Platform

As Uber expands into multiple Mobility and Delivery new offerings, having a compelling strategy becomes a fundamental driver for short and long-term success. Amidst a fierce driven market, keeping our users engaged requires constant innovation while finding the most effective levers to ensure profitable growth. This role is in charge of crafting and leading our global cross-platform strategy and also the analytics team that builds knowledge to make sound recommendations for inquisitive investing in our region.

You will be responsible for leading and developing a team about planning and implementing our strategy and also the data analytics needed for success. This position will play a crucial role in Uber.

Uber is growing beyond Rides into Eats, Groceries with Corner shop, and others in the future, shifting towards a Platform strategy. As such, we’re building a Platform team in Latin America to build an appealing offering and further engage our consumers. This Platform operations team at Uber covers a broad directive of engagement programs, with the overall objective of ensuring Uber is the most engaging way to go wherever you want and get you whatever you need.

You will be responsible for leading and running platform related programs, particularly consumer engagement. We are driven by innovation and experimentation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring your program is successful, working closely with senior leadership, product, marketing and local teams. This is an outstanding opportunity to be a key part of one of our “big ambitious bets” for 2021 and 2022 and to see a tangible impact from your work to the business and the external world.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate successful execution of our global SuperApp & Cross-Platform Strategy workstreams by partnering with Product and cross-functional teams
  • Coordinate the completion of 10 workstreams, from conceptualization to planning to execution.
  • Prioritize, facilitate & lead meetings with high executive leaders globally
  • Provide constant updates to senior leadership on the progress of each workstream
  • Follow up on AIs and ensure they are acted upon in a timely manner and at the level encouraged
  • Support workstream owners on building monthly deliverables and on ensuring that key partners for each work stream are aligned with the project’s path forward and recommendations made.
  • Influence partners as needed to align them towards a single recommendation
  • Develop & launch Memberships & Consumer Growth Strategy via constant experiments: free trials, promos, channel optimization, etc.
  • Align said strategies with local partners, regional teams, product & leadership.
  • Develop and run tools and processes to complete strategic and business plans.
  • Supervise & measure the day-to-day results of the programs you will own to provide updates to leadership in the different Forums.

What You’ll Need

  • 3 + years of experience in Strategy & Planning, Operations or Consulting
  • A background in Finance, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics are preferred but Business backgrounds work as well.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
  • Project Management skills
  • Master problem solver; develops new frameworks for sophisticated problems where no standards exist today and engages other authorities for feedback and integrate it effectively
  • Super project owning the rollout of large initiatives across the region which require cross-functional teamwork across operations, product, cities, marketing, legal and tax.
  • Strong communication and comfort sharing information formally or informally with senior audiences. Able to articulate a clear vision and areas of strategic focus.
  • Outstanding organizational skills. Work autonomously and own and complete projects (From conceptualization to execution and post-launch analysis).
  • Creative hard-working mentality, with an go-to possible demeanor
  • Able to develop highly practical solutions for sophisticated problems and drive implementation across the organization
  • Strategic problem solver and operator who is able to identify, size and prioritize new opportunities whilst also thinking about the operational impacts and considerations
  • A curiosity about and passion for Uber and working on the next wave of innovation at Uber
  • Excellent business acumen. Understand how to drive consumer engagement across multiple products
